Chris joined Barney & Barney in 1993 and became a Principal in 2005. With over 25 years of experience in the employee benefits industry, Chris currently specializes in health & welfare consulting. He leads a team in the Bay Area office dedicated to serving as a strategic business partner and extension of our clients' human resources departments.

Prior to joining Barney & Barney, Chris worked for The Travelers Insurance Company where he was Regional Director in charge of sales, underwriting and service for the Western Region. This provided Chris the foundation and extensive knowledge to move into a health & welfare consulting role at Barney & Barney.

Chris focuses primarily in the healthcare and non-profit practice groups as well as with clients in a variety of business sectors. Chris is responsible for developing strategy, design, implementation and communication of employee benefit packages to address the specific needs of some of the firm's largest and most complex clients. His strong financial background is valuable in his ability to provide customized and effective analytics, financial modeling and negotiations for his clients.

Chris is active in his local community of Clayton. He has been involved in industry associations such as the Northern California Employee Benefits Council and the Western Pension Conference. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
