    Life Science companies face unique Product Liability challenges. This presentation will describe the nationwide trends relating to drug and device litigation. Our session will discuss loss prevention strategies, how to deal with claims when they do arise and the role of codefendants in such claims. Finally, we will examine the role of product liability insurance and important pitfalls to avoid.

    • ROGER G. PERKINS, Partner, Morris Polich & Purdy LLP
    • Roger’s practice, while focusing principally on the defense of pharmaceutical, medical device and biotech companies product liability and commercial litigation, also includes representing clients in toxic and mass torts as well as environmental litigation. Mr. Perkins has tried over 35 cases to jury verdict, is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a Barrister in the American Inns of Court, Enright Chapter, and served as an instructor at the IADC’s Trial Academy in 2004.

    • ANTHONY G. BRAZIL, Partner, Morris Polich & Purdy LLP
    • The primary focus of Mr. Brazil’s practice is the representation of pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech and nutritional supplement companies in a broad array of product liability claims as well as other complex and multidistrict litigation matters. In addition, he provides risk management and counseling services for pharmaceutical, medical device and biotech companies.
