Peter Holmes is a Client Executive in Barney & Barney’s Small Business Division. Peter joined the company in 2004 and specializes in providing insurance solutions for clients in the Private Client Division as well as those in our Small Business Property & Casualty Division.
Peter has over 20 years experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Barney & Barney, he worked for The Auto Club of Southern California and Farmers Insurance as a personal lines and commercial sales agent.
Peter previously was a member of the United States Coast Guard as well as a firefighter in the Miramar Federal Fire Department and Stillwater, Oklahoma Fire Department.
Peter earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection & Safety Engineering Technology from Oklahoma State University.
Jennifer Johnson joined the firm in 2014, bringing over 14 years of industry experience to her role as Private Client Advisor. Jennifer specializes in customizing personal insurance programs. Through careful examination of her private clients’ assets, Jennifer roots out gaps in coverage and offers the peace of mind that comes with knowing nothing has been overlooked. She acts as her private clients’ single point of contact, simplifying all aspects of building, maintaining and servicing a comprehensive personal insurance program.
Prior to joining Barney & Barney, Jennifer worked as an insurance agent at the Automobile Club of Southern California. In addition to her extensive insurance experience, she also served in the banking industry for over a decade. Jennifer has been licensed since 1992, holding licenses in Personal Lines Broker- Agent, Property & Casualty, and Life through the California Department of Insurance.

Jeff joined Barney in 2008 and serves as a Client Executive in the Commercial Department. Jeff is responsible for structuring cost effective risk management and insurance programs in addition to being the first responder for all client needs. He specializes in workers’ compensation, property and casualty and professional liability for social service and nonprofit organizations in California. He has successfully created commercial insurance programs for nonprofit clients including the Burn Institute and San Diego Workforce Partnership.
Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University San Marcos and holds the professional designation of Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI). Currently, Jeff is a board member with Home Start, Inc. in Mission Valley. He is also involved with various charitable and volunteer organizations throughout San Diego.
